Q1.1) person centred value influences all aspects of care. It’s important to work towards this as then your respecting service users wishes and preferences. It has a huge impact on the service users as it makes them feel more relaxed and lets them know we respect all their wishes and preference’s. working in the way avoids service users feeling down and depressed.
Q1.2) The care plan is guidelines to show nurses, care assistants and other professionals how the service user prefers things doing ( waking up around 10am and having assistance of x1 female carer.) by following the care plan you know you are working in a way that the service user feels more comfortable and happy with.
01.3) if consent cannot be established then usually the next of kin will be asked to give consent. We have a duty of care so planning ahead and making a set plan that will guide all care assistants to work in a person centred way.
Q4.1) The different ways of encouraging active participation is by encouraging service users to make as many choices on their own. (What they would like to eat?) another way is by encouraging service users to take part in daily activities and praising them when joining in.
05.1) if a decision has been made and the service user did not agree with the choices that has been made I would try and promote all the good things about the decision that has been made and the benefits that would come with it. If the individual still felt strongly against the decision I would come up with alternative that would be more person centred.
Q6.1)
Identity, self-esteem and self-image are all linked together. Each one of these makes a individual feel good about themselves. If you was to take one of these away (self-image) the individual can be affected by this and could cause to depression and isolation.
