"Hey, wake up."
A voice was calling for him. The voice seemed strangely comforting to the boy, but he was unable to tell who it was. The boy tried opening his eyes to see the face of the individual that was calling for him. All he was able to see were strands of black hair before the exhaustion …show more content…
plaguing the boy's body absorbed all the energy that was needed to keep his eyes open and he plunge into a deep slumber.

"Sweetie, can you wake our little boy up?" A feminine, yet nostalgic voice called.
"Give me a minute, honey." A masculine, but also nostalgic voice replied.
Where have I heard these voices before? They sound so familiar, yet distant.
It was something that had been fresh in the boy's memory, but had been forgotten.
Wait, where am I? I can't seem to remember anything. It feels like I'm asleep, but at the same time I'm not. I'm laying on something hard and it seems to soothe my body. Just where am I?
Creak. Another creak. Footsteps.
Someone was coming, and was coming towards him. He was beginning to become of afraid of the person coming towards him as he did not know who it is nor did he know if that person has any ill intentions.
"KK, wake up." The man's voice called.
No, it can't be...
The only people that called him KK were his parents.
The man placed his hands onto the boy's shoulder, giving him a squeeze, "Rise and shine!"
"Father!" The boy blinked open his eyes and threw what seemed like a blanket over. A look of disbelief spread over the boy's face. "No, it can't be. You and mom are dead."
"Ouch! Saying that your parents died. I thought I brought you up better than that."
The boy decided to slap his cheeks in order to wake him up from his seemingly dream. No reaction. It wasn't a dream.
"Stop daydreaming KK, your mother made your favorite. Pineapple and coconut risotto." His father gleefully said while leaving the cabin.
The boy began to look around, absorbing his surroundings only to discover that it was the same cabin that he had lived in for almost his entire life. Hopping off the bed, he walked out of his cabin and onto the deck, breathing in some fresh salty air.
After a few minutes of reminiscing, the boy walked towards the galley of their ship, or simply the kitchen. The dinning room was also located there as the ship was not big enough to have a separate dining room.
His father was already there, reading the newspaper while his mother was wearing her 'sailor' apron, as she likes to call it and is cooking pineapple and coconut risotto. Her 'sailor' apron was basically an apron with blue and white stripes on it. Unusual, but fitting for the sea.
The galley was only a few square feet and contained a stove, a small refrigerator, a few cabinets, a long brown table covered by a blue floral tablecloth and surrounded by 8 chairs, and two circle shape windows on both sides of the kitchen.
The boy sat down at the end of the table which is where he was normally situated and was eagerly waiting for his mother's homemade risotto. He could smell the sweet scent of pineapple and coconut along with the smell of fresh parsley and clover diffusing into the air and into his nose causing the boy to drool. Wiping off the drool on his face, his mother placed a plate of pineapple and coconut risotto in front of him. The strong aroma bomb lured him in and within minutes, the boy was done with his meal.
The boy's parents watched him happily during the time the he was devouring his meal like that of an animal. His mom took off her apron and left it on the kitchen counter while his father left his newspaper on the table and stood up. The boy's parents walked out of the kitchen and onto the deck of the ship prompting him to ask, "Where are you going?" The boy dropped his spoon onto his plate and followed his parents as he felt an aura of fear surround his heart. Called it …show more content…
intuition.
Just then, rigid black chains began to surround the boy, binding his arms and legs backward.
Shocked, the boy blurted out with fear gleaming in my eyes, "Mother, Father, what is this?"
"It's nothing sweetie." His mother nonchalantly replied.
"Well then, your mother and I will be leaving." His father added. Both of his parents turn away, hand in hand, facing the sea.
"No, father, mother! Don't go! Don't leave me behind again!" Tears were collecting in his eyes as he tries to reach his hand out to stop them, but the chains binding him, restricted his movements.
They jumped. Ignoring their son's cries and protests. They jumped into the sea and never to be seen again.

He jolted upwards in surprise, crashing into something hard. Massive amounts of sweat was trickling down the boy's face. He was panting heavily and opened his mouth, gasping for air. It felt like if he was shut off from all the oxygen in the world. Opening his eyes, he saw a girl with black hair, clutching her nose and groaning in pain.
"Ah, sorry for bumping into you."
"No, it's okay. I'm fine." The girl said with a mild expression on her face.
An awkward silence filled the air. The boy nor the girl knew what to say, but it was the girl that broke the silence between them.
The black hair girl mumbled "Um..hello, my name is Anami. I lived on the house directly in front of the pier you were sitting on. What's your
name?"
Who was this girl? Should I tell her my name? She seems harmless.
After a long pause, the boy replied, "...Keyan." He tried to avoid eye contact with the girl, but could sense her gazing at him.
"Keyan. That's a nice name. Who gave it to yo-" Gasping, she quickly placed both her hands over her mouth and mumbled, "I'm..sorry. I forgot that.."
It felt like frozen knives struck his heart, causing him to lose his composure, but he tried to detach all emotions that were still lingering in his heart in order to remain firm and said, "It's okay, my father gave me the name. It means existence. In order words, my father wanted me to live my life without any regrets."
"Um..do you know where this place is?"
The boy looked around and was bewildered. They were on the beach of an island and was surrounded by forests; towards the middle of the forest contained thick fog that can be seen above the canopies of several gigantic trees.
The boy shook his head.
"I did some exploring and scavenging while you were asleep and found some firewood and fruits. It seems that this island isn't very big. Probably around 40 miles in diameter. I didn't go near the fog as it is dangerous."
"I see, thank you, but anyways who are you?" The boy asked.
"I'm just someone that got swept up by a tsunami alongside you."
"I'm sorry."
"N-no, it's not your fault."
"Then, I'll start a fire." The boy began to twirl a stick around a small pile of wood in order to ignite a spark.
"You know how to start a fire? Amazing!" The girl gleefully clapped her hands together.
"My father taught me when me stopped on an island once to take shelter from the storm.
After a few minutes, the spark landed on the wood and eventually grew larger by consuming the pile of branches. The boy threw in some leaves and arranged the extra branches over the fire in the shape of a tipi.
"Here's some fruit." The girl pass the boy some sea grapes, banana figs, mangoes, passions fruits, and coconuts.
"Where did you find all of this?" The boy looked at her in bewilderment.
"I just followed my instinct and as you can see, I found these fruits."
He was surprise that a girl that seemed to be the same age as him was able to find so many variety of fruits in such a short time.
They sat on the beach next to the fire, eating their fruits silently until the sun went down and the landscape was covered in a sea of darkness.
Specks of dust illuminates the night sky as the boy and the girl lay on the sand staring at the night sky. Keyan began thinking about the well-being his parents; he wanted to know if his parents had become one with the stars. He began to blink back tears as he was faced with the reality of his parent's death due to his dream.
He knew that the girl would see him cry , but he didn't care anymore.
Keyan saw movement of shadows from the corner of his eyes. He abruptly turn backwards, but all he saw were bushes. He considered asking Anami, but I seems like she had already fallen asleep. He was tired too, his eyes were becoming drowsy and within moments, the boy had collapsed on the sand, followed by a swarm of footsteps sinking into the sand.
