My personal color represents purple. I dress in a lot of purple clothes, my computer case and keyboard are purple. This color is very personal for me. This represents the type of cancer my mother died of and the cancer my sister is now fighting. They both suffer from leiomyosarcoma of the uterus and both were diagnosed at stage four. When people get to know me, they say you
wear or have a lot of items that are purple. I make them aware of my families fight with this very aggressive and rare type of cancer because of it.
An institutional color is my high school colors of red and white. I went to Raytown South High School where are mascot was a cardinal. Another use for red and white colors is hospital, first aid, or Red Cross. I feel that for the use in high school it was because the red cardinal could fly against the white clouds, while those for hospital with the flag for the Red Cross white background is tied to the original Geneva Convention in Switzerland. The Red Cross flag is the reverse of the Switzerland flag with a red background and white flag. This flag and its colors represents a place where aid can be given to a person who is injured and in need of care.
