HUM 112 – World Cultures II
Abstract
Cultural education and appreciation influence economic growth and advance a rewarding intellectual, emotional, moral and spiritual life of a people. Community development is a collaborative and facilitative process undertaken by the community that shares a common purpose of building capacity. The mission of the All Cameroonian Cultural & Development Foundation (ACCDF) combines cultural sustenance and community development to promote understanding, social cohesion and peace among Cameroonians, collaboratively planned and led initiatives, and external partnerships to enhance resource development. ACCDF’S overriding objective is to maintain and improve positive professional, cultural, social and economic engagements in order to enhance the quality of life in Cameroon Diaspora and to assist in the transfer of brain gain to our motherland Cameroon and Africa.
The all Cameroonian cultural festival is a creative flagship and commemorative cultural vehicle to Celebrate, preserve and increase understanding of Cameroon’s culture, and by extension African culture, through a range of performing and visual arts, food-craft and cultural expressions of ethnic groups. Foster goodwill among participants and facilitate mutual appreciation in functional terms that provide catalysts for increased social cohesion while recognizing ‘diversity” as positive elements that increase our horizons and add value to our quality of life. Maximize opportunities for residents of the host county to participate in learning and leisure activities through multicultural appreciation. Strengthen inter-community relations by facilitating collaboration between public, private and community agencies.
In the light of everything that I’ve read and heard I decided to attend the All Cameroonians Cultural Festival Last month at 14900 Pennsylvania Ave. Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 in the Prince George's equestrian, Prince Georges County
