Communication is a significant part of everyone’s life. It is how we show or tell our needs, wants,emotions, and what we believe in. Communication is not always verbal. Both values and beliefs show what is important to us to people we care about and what we believe in. Values could be thought in many different ways. They could be judgements of what is good, bad, and in between, or punishments when rules are broken. “He said he was going to have James Hubbard flogged in front of everyone and then sold far south he’d never see his family again” (Bradley 154). Religious beliefs express what is important to a specific person or group. Beliefs is also another way of saying “what we believe in.” Some people may believe in the supernatural, mostly found in religion. “He stopped playing his guitar and the spell was broken...the way we could play his guitar and make all the animals turn to stone” (Dicamillo 80, 81). Each individual person thinks different thoughts than another.
