Culture Vs American Culture

I define culture as a way of life for a group of people who have similar ancestor or behaviors, beliefs, or values. An example of this is from the textbook in chapter 1 on page 18 and 19, which explain how culture molds habits of thought through traditions and beliefs that can cause individuals from different culture to think differently. I think this example can be showed in how people from different culture expression their self-such as on page 18 which show an example on how American and Japanese culture expression their self “Where there’s a will there a way”(a U.S expression) and “The nail that sticks out get hammered down” ( a Japanese expression). Which show how both culture think differently because with U.S expression it show the
American belief and value of determination will overcome any obstacle and with the Japanese expression it show how difficult it is to stand out in a hierarchical and homogenous culture.
