Is Having a Curfew for Teens in Salinas a Good Idea? I strongly agree with the idea of having a curfew for teen in Salinas. I believe that a curfew should really be in Salinas for example how a day’s there are many things that could happen to the teens and the little children. In some of the street there could be kidnapping. In some of cities it is now illegal for any teen under age of eighteen to be out after 11:00pm -5:00am on the weeknights and midnight on weekends unless he or she is out because of a job, school, or recreational activity or dance. Those in favor of teen curfews say that they will be more focused in school and to also reduce juvenile’s crimes and protect teenagers themselves from been the victim of a crime. Therefore, they can become more responsible. Teen curfews are good for many reasons. First of all, they will be more focused in school to try to get the education they need so they could be someone in life. For example, if they are many teens that don’t have a curfew they would be off and late nights parties and at clubs only if you ask your parents if they could pick you up and tell them at what time are they going to pick you me up . These are the kinds of important things that teenagers will need to be safe. In the other side you have to remember that most of these teens are still student and go to school they have a big future ahead of them so they could have a good career for themselves. According to Beth Frerking “And many parents seem unable to control their children without the stern backing of a city law.” I believe that have a curfew law in Salinas is very important to have for the teens. Many of the parents want their children to be safe only if they don't want to listen to their parents then they will make the wrong decision .That is why we should keep the curfew law.
