Curvature Of The Spine
The spine is essential to comfort and mobility in daily life. While scoliosis is not painful in it’s early stages (often in childhood), pain is facilitated as the alignment of the spine causes friction in the persons hips. Without an early diagnosis, scoliosis can apply pressure on nerves causing pain in the legs. The pain and compression of the nerves can contribute to poor balance and motor skills. Curvature of the spine can also effect important organ functions like breathing due to pressure in the area. In severe cases,scoliosis can effect vital heart function but most cases are treated before these developing problems with spinal fusion surgery or a scoliosis brace.
