Cyberbullying Tyler Clementi
Cyberbullying Paper by Camila Ross Tyler Clementi (December 19, 1991 - September 22, 2010) was a Rutgers University freshman who committed suicide after becoming the victim of cyberbullying. Today's society seem to think that bullying is something to take into consideration after a big event happens. That is the case of Tyler Clementi. In this paper, I will be discussing three different factors that might help us understand what happened to Clementi and some ways to prevent those atrocities.
The three factors that I have decided to use for this paper are going to be cyberbullying, hate crimes and the sanctions that come after you or someone have done such terrible acts. I have decided to do those three factors because I believe that they

"Hate crimes are criminal acts motivated by bias or prejudice towards particular groups of people. To be considered a hate crime, the offence must meet two criteria: First, the act must constitute an offence under criminal law; second, the act must have been motivated by bias" (Hughes, n.d). Thankfully, the FBI help with the hate crimes. Their role is to " investigate for criminal violations of federal civil rights statutes. The Bureau works closely with its local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement partners around the country in many of these cases. [Also], the FBI works closely with state/local/tribal authorities on investigations, even when federal charges are not brought and the majority of the FBI’s field offices participate in local Hate Crime Working Groups" (Hate, …show more content…
Also, there should be classes in school about that subject. According to the website called Stop Cyberbullying, "Parents, school staff, and other adults in the community can help kids prevent bullying by talking about it, building a safe school environment, and creating a community-wide bullying prevention strategy" (Prevent, 2012).
