Cytowic's Sonnet, Inclusion

Although some may believe people don’t need to belong to survive, people need to belong to have a fulfilling life. People need a fulfilling life because it means they’ve had a life with a sense of pride, inclusion, and acceptance. George Washington University neurology professor Richard E. Cytowic states that “Self-esteem feels good because it calls on the emotion of pride. Pride in turn arises from one's sense of confidence and capability.” (Cytowic). This statement reveals pride is a long lasting sense that comes from someone's confidence and capability, which in sense adds fulfilment to life.
