Using the following headings evaluate how the external factors, over a specified future period (the next 5 to 10 years), may affect Thorpe Park and Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club in terms of their:-
• specified business activities (including ownership)
• their strategy (aims and objectives), internal structures (how will these change ?)
• functional activities (how will these develop/change ?)
• Stakeholders (eg what influence could they have?)
External factors could affect the business through a number of ways. With the upcoming events both businesses will be affected through one way or another. The businesses will need to change how they work in order to survive these changes. During the next 5 to 10 years there will be big changes that both businesses will need to make in order to survive.

Over the next 10 years a number of things can affect the business activities. The recession is a major factor that could affect the business ownership over the next 5 to 10 years. With the recession at the moment it can cause problems for the business especially for cash flow. Another business may come and take over Thorpe Park from Merlin. Although Merlin has a lot of attractions around Europe it still doesn’t mean that Thorpe Park is recession proof. If Thorpe Park came into bad money problems Merlin may want to sell the business to another business like they did with Madam Tussards. I think that Thorpe Park wouldn’t be able to continue trading without Merlin behind them as they won’t have as much capital to rely on. With the amount of attractions that Merlin has it helps bail out any businesses that may not be trading as efficiently as possible. On the other hand I wouldn’t say that Wimbledon is recession
