As a hopeful Communication Sciences and Disorders major, I am fascinated by the ways that people communicate without words and how those thoughts travel through time and are preserved so that we may learn from them. Of course, culture is everywhere in every form imaginable: the “despicable” graffiti painted on trains, the singer- songwriter on stage at the local café, the words hidden between the covers of books that line the shelves of the library, all of which are severely underappreciated in today’s society. I strive now to open myself up to the culture that God has surrounded me with an give it the proper recognition.
