Music Concert essay
Extra-Credit
Dance Theater Music Art On the 3 November 2012, my classmates and I were to attend a music dance concert in the Feddersen Recital Hall in Mount San Antonio College. we were being seat in the circle, where I can observed most things from the floor above. The hall is quite a small grand but in simple and elegant way, and with simple lighting. I love it although it is not as large-scale as others performance at Los Angeles downtown. Before the performance begins, there was whispered in the hall as the spectators were discussing what to anticipate from this dance concert and most of them dress in semi formal. As for the performers, they carefully and delicately tune their instruments to the precise pitch and their dressing and preparing for this performance. Every year the Mt.SAC Repertoy Dance Company showcases their unmatchable dance moves in a dance concert. This year’s dance concert was indeed another hit. Despite there is only ten songs in this performance People started flowing in at 7:45 pm, and after a little while it was already packed, all seats were full. Students, relatives of the performers, and dance enthusiasts were mainly present in the said event. People were taking pictures after pictures of the hall before the event had started. The fun started at around 8:10 p.m. And the showed end at about 9:45 at the P.2 end. These ten different songs has shows ten different stories that i loved a lot. I will just write few of them that i loved the most. One of the songs that i love name "Do You Have The Time?" by Oliver Tank. There is seventeen people dance together to perform this songs.; they all wear formal. The background lights were red.The style of background song were a song that you would always heard at clubbing. The dancing were mixing by hip hop and ballet dancing. They dance with fast rhythm that makes me

Music is a very large and significant part of human history. The characteristics, style, and theme of music is affected by what is going on in the world during the time when it is written. The constant changes in technology and culture throughout history cause music to be an art that is always building on itself and evolving. The connection between the progress of human history and the development of music is highly evident when comparing Hildegard of Bingen's Alleluia, O virga mediatrix and Notre Dame Cathedral's Gaude Maria virgo.…

The first thing that caught my eyes was the colorful and unique dance regalia or outfit worn by the dancers. Bright colors such as yellow, orange, red, and light blue wrapped around the dancers beautifully. The older looking male dancers were wearing the feather warbonnets on the head and bustles on the back. Dancers with striking multicolored beaded and fringed outfits were crowding the dance floor. Some of the female dancers dressed simple with their colorful fringed shawls. I noticed that some dancers even had bells attached to their ankles or dance outfits that they wore. I also was told that the feathers and leathers used were inherited from their father up to their great grandfather. The sight was so magnificent – it made me excited to stay for the show.…

When thinking of orchestral performances, one possibly thinks of stiff, formal environments that have a dress requirement of dresses and tuxedos. Visions of aloof, almost militant conductors with long tails on their suits also come to mind. However, after attending the Louisville Orchestra’s pops season event “The Music of Led Zeppelin”, it became very obvious that even the prestigious Louisville Orchestra and their devoted following could let their hair down and rock and roll for one evening.…

April 20, 2016, my oldest daughter and I attended the Moscow Ballet’s performance of Don Quixote, an everlasting favorite, at Three Rivers College. This is a classic ballet that has grown in popularity over the years, of which three acts can brilliantly convey every human emotion possible. It is a ballet with which I am vaguely familiar; I have seen it performed on television a few times and at the age of eleven I was thrilled to see a live performance. Don Quixote is chalk full of minuets, jigs, marches, and waltzes, mostly up beat and light-hearted with fun entertaining melodies as to correlate to the comedy. This particular viewing did not have an orchestra, but rather recorded sound. This aspect was suitable for the Tinnin Fine Arts Center…

The performance was at Ruth Lilly Performance Hall Christel Dehaan Fine Arts Center, on the campus of the University of Indianapolis. It was very beautiful, the program gave a disclaimer about the design of the concert hall; which read “The acoustics of Ruth Lilly Performance Hall was designed for optimum dispersion of sound, projecting the softest parts of the music clearly too each listener.” I was extremely amazed by this note in the program because we learned about the way that music and venues are connected. The hall is not large like a cathedral, but there were hanging from the walls so that sound would no be absorbed so easily. There was a chandelier hanging above the stage that also incorporated the microphones, and the spotlight…

Ballet “Cry” simply showed to us real life of all African women. Every single American people know what kind of life they went through. Therefore it touched their heard. Alvin Ailey’s “Cry” presented wonderfully combined movements, technique and emotion. Ms. Donna Wood uses tragic face, a mask of sorrow. It is a face born to cry, but when she smiles it is with an innocent radiance, joyfulness that simple and lovely. She never tries consciously to please an audience. He was not only concentrating in movements and physical performance, but also using flowing white gown with a long white scarf for the dancer. A long sleeve white blouse is slim, to show the dancers body. Especially her movement and technique. It made dance more interesting to audience. This beautiful piece of modern dance consists of three sections. Ms. Donna Wood performed solo dance for 16 minutes from section to section. Her ways through the dance are different in movement quality that she gives to each passage. In this tribute to black women, the free sprit or the African women comes through in the energy of her dancing.…

What i first noticed when I first entered the performance center was a duet dancing slowly. The girls’ costume was a purple color and she was wearing a tank top and a flowy skirt. The male dancer was wearing simple purple pants that were obviously moveable. I particularly noticed the lighting that was on the floor. On the floor seemed to be a projection of snowflakes and cool blue lighting on top.…

I went to Mr. O’Neal’s second jazz concert today, which took place at a little bit far but very nice jazz studio in San Pedro. There was a beautiful neighborhood nearby, and it was the first time I’ve ever been to San Pedro. I was kind of tired since I went there right after I got off from work, but I still be excited and couldn’t wait for the wonderful music. My friends and I had a seat before the concern really started, it was a warm and sweet little room. Then I looked at the little stage in front where Mr. O’Neal’s going to perform later, it was just fit to everything. I like the design of the stage: they had colorful lighting on five separate pieces pure white background , a new classic piano, a bright blue jazz drum which I like the best, and a set of red African drum, they really made me look forward to the show. My friend also ordered the pizza the Mr. O’Neal recommended, and we were ready to enjoy the concert!…

As a surprise for my birthday during the hustle and bustle of the State Fair at Fair Park, I had the pleasure of seeing West Side Story presented by the Dallas Summer Musicals on October 11, 2011. West Side Story is a musical that takes place in New York City during the mid 1950s. An adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the musical shows the rivalry between two teenage street gangs, the Jets and the Sharks. The Jets are a white working class group while the Sharks are from Puerto Rico. The lead male, Tony is a Jet and he falls in love with Maria, the sister of Bernardo who is the leader of the Sharks. The story follows the obstacles that they must face in order to be together, and also how the two different cultures of the time clashed.…
