There are many dangers of using Alcohol, but there are only about 3 that stand out the most to me. The 3 dangers that get my attention are liver problems, bad judgment, and addiction. Although these may not be the deadliest dangers of alcohol, they are the deadliest to me.
First off, the job of the liver is to remove toxins from the body. Alcohol is a type of toxin that the liver has to try and remove. The liver can only process so much alcohol, and any extra alcohol that is left causes a problem within your body. The more this happens the more likely you are to get a disease. The main diseases are, Fatty Liver Disease, Hepatitis, and Cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is the worst out of the 3. Cirrhosis causes lumps to form and after a while your liver will have quit working.
Second of all, bad judgment is at its worst when under the effects of alcohol. Alcohol is a depressant and slows brain activity. Even short-term alcohol use, including just one drink, can delay reaction time, impair vision, slur speech, weaken muscles and cause memory loss. These factors make activities like driving very dangerous. When your brain activity is slow, it effects your decision making as well. Although alcohol depresses brain functions, it often stimulates people to act out, sometimes in violent or aggressive ways. Alcohol is one of leading causes in deaths. Usually, the deaths are from people driving under the influence. If you chose to drink and drive, it’s highly possible that you can either kill someone or kill yourself.
Next, addiction is when you can’t live without having that one thing you are addicted to. Alcohol addiction or alcoholism is one of the worst addictions anyone can have. Alcoholism is putting your body at risk for multiple problems. Also, alcohol damages almost every organ in the body, so when you’re an alcoholic your body’s organs are getting destroyed. Luckily alcoholism does have a cure, although the process of breaking the addiction is
