Adversity comes in all shapes and sizes, varying from person to person. We are all faced with different challenges to overcome and different obstacles to face. In the spring of 2016, the UNA Softball team faced many challenges before becoming National Champions. From beginning to end, the Lady Lions did not have it so easy, as many thought it seemed. With a 60-7 record we faced losses, not only on the field but off the field as well.…
For the past four years, I’ve been captain of my all-star cheerleading team. My teammates are a diverse group of girls, ranging from ten to seventeen years old. Working with a large age group has made me a more patient person. It takes more time and effort to answer a ten-year-old’s question, than a question from a fifteen or sixteen-year-old. I also must be willing to take my time when explaining parts of routines, because everyone learns and understands at different speeds and levels. Along with this patience, I have developed an ability to comfort people. Younger team members often become frustrated by challenging tumbling passes and stunts, when this happens I intervene. I comfort them by providing much needed aid, not solving the problem…
My partner of eleven years is my greatest cheerleader. When I feel overwhelmed and depressed she gives me encouragement to conquer every challenge I’m faced with. In addition to my partner, another influential person in my life is a co-worker and friend. She fills the maternal role that is absent in my life, by giving me advice, different perspectives, and confidence. My career plays a vital role in my resilience, it gives me cause to wake up and achieve greatness each day. The children I work with inspire me to be a better educator, nurturer, and caregiver. When I am feeling depressed nothing lifts my spirits speedier, than my students. I believe it is a gift to have the availability to focus on constructing children’s strengths, rather than…
This is the first time that I have been given the opportunity to endow to this organization. Although I may not know much about the fulfillments I need to maintain, I know that I will work very hard to be a successful leader and to help manage many benefits to my community. I will work even harder to expand the NHS with many accomplishments that we can make.…
The health care industry is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing industries. I am eager to return back to it, for it is one that I love.” Employment of medical and health services managers is expected to grow by 22 percent from 2010 to 2020, faster than the average for all occupations.” (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2012) At a minimum I seek to obtain a career in health care administration on a management…
My Personal Vision Statement includes: To be managing my Respiratory Therapy department, with wisdom and courage, in the course of the next five years. In May of 2019, I will be graduating the Cardiopulmonary Science program at East Tennessee State University. Upon successful completion, I plan to apply at a hospital that will allow me to grow and develop as a leader and a therapist. Becoming management of a department takes hard work, dedication, and usually years of practice. I believe if I dedicate myself to this vision I can achieve it through, learning from my fellow colleagues and improving not only my skills but, my knowledge of the practice.…
1. How would you describe your role in your current position and your educational preparation for this role? “Being a Masters trained nurse allows me to obtain advanced level positions within the field of study I love. I have leadership and educational nursing experience gained through the MSN program coupled with my personal nursing experience within hospice. It is my job to hire nurses and ensure they are properly trained and set for success within our company. I also have the skills and knowledge needed to assess potential patients and determine whether they meet criteria. Once we’ve admitted the patient, I am responsible for placing that patient on a team that I fell best fits that patients individual needs.” 2. How would you explain the unique contributions you as a nurse bring to an interdisciplinary team?“I believe we all have something special to bring to the team, but if I were to focus on my skills and attributes, I would say I have the training and knowledge needed to assess and treat the clients we serve. Being the clinical director for this office allows me the ability to hire and supervise nursing staff that I feel have the skills needed to ensure our patients and families are cared for in the best possible manner.”…
