The Quest to maintain power has been responsible for some of the worst human
actions in history, including genocides.The Rwandan Genocide was the massive killing
of hundreds of thousands of Rwanda's
Tutsis and Hutu over about 100 days. Political figure Juvenal Habyarimana, the President
at the time, died in a plane crash. The Hutu blamed it on the Tutsi claiming it as
assassination. Out of fear of being defenceless, the Huti tribe set out to destroy all the
Tutsi people. Then, In 2003, 2 Rebel Groups went to the Sudanese government to say
that they weren't being protected from any attacks and were not seen as that important by

The United Nations did not help very much in Darfur because
this too was failed to be recognized as a genocide.We have quite our high morals and
standards. They say they want to fight for world peace, don’t want to go help or spend
money, They are too worried about profit to do anything. Money is power, and the
government does not want to lose its power.
But in the midst of genocide, with no help from the United Nations, some
ordinary people did some extraordinary things to help the people around them. Take
PAul Rusesabagina for example. He was just an ordinary man, just a hotel manager. But
when genocide hit, he took charge and turned his hotel into a shelter for anyone
whocould make it. He was able to keep 1,200 people safe without any special skills or
help. Tracey Smith is another example. She was just an ordinary person, like Paul. But
when she heard about darfur, She decided to take action. On her own, she formed the
Sudan club, where they sold eggs and washed cars to raise money for Darfur. Even
though she did not have very much and did not have special training or government
