Summary
To be a house-guest there are many responsibilities such as schedule which, a perfect house-guest would call ahead that they are coming and commit to the time they are arriving and leaving. Guests should know how long to stay at someone else’s place and not stay too long to make the person who owns the house annoyed of them. Another responsibility is that a guest should come with gifts to show appreciation. The gift does not have to be something expensive, just to show that you respect them that they are letting you stay at their house. Guests should respect the host and not tell them that something of their house or taste sucks. Guests should make the host feel good by telling them how beautiful their house is. Meals is another responsibility house-guests should know that they should not always depend on the host to make them food all the times. Guests should at least offer for help to make the meals or even make meal themselves to show their generosity. Privacy is a big responsibility because the host could be still working and the guest would be on holiday that they are staying at the hosts home. The guest should respect the fact that the host is not on a holiday and do things them self or even help the host out by having food ready for them before they come back home. Appreciation is important for a house-guest because that would show the host they liked being there and that they actually took the time to appreciate the stay this way the host would even invite the guests back.

A great example of a guest host relationship where both the guest and the host behave properly is the relationship between Telemachos and King Menelaos. As a guest Telemachos treats his host with respect and dignity. He addresses Menelaos as "my lord" to give reverence to his kindness and to be polite. Telemachos is very complimentary to his host by saying "Zeus must have such a place.(The Odyssey 44)" when referring to Menelaos ' house. He does this to let him know that he will be a good guest and that he is a proper gentleman. Menelaos shows that he to can be a good host and gives Telemachos food and shelter even when there is a wedding going on. He says "go and take out their horses, and bring the men in to share our feast"(The Odyssey 44). This shows that Menelaos must be a good host especially to give them shelter during a wedding. Due to kindness of both men good things are bound to ensue. For Telemachos the good outcome he receives is the accurate news of his father 's whereabouts. For Menelaos the good outcome is that whenever he may need help Telemachos is always there for him. Another example in which there is a good host…

F T T T F T F T F T F T T F If your topic is clear in the body of the speech, there is no need to state it in the introduction. A startling introduction is effective only if it is firmly related to the speech topic. Credibility is the audience’s perception of whether a speaker is qualified to speak on a given topic. Goodwill is the audience’s perception of whether the speaker has the best interests of the audience in mind. A preview statement is especially important in a speech introduction when a speaker is addressing a hostile audience. Under normal circumstances the introduction should constitute about 10 to 20 percent of a speech. The only way to convey that your speech is ending is through the use of words such as “In conclusion.” A dissolve ending is a conclusion that generates emotional appeal by fading step by step to a dramatic final statement. The conclusion should normally make up about 25 percent of a speech. One function of a speech conclusion is to reinforce the speaker’s central idea. The preparation outline should be drawn up before a speaker begins research for a speech. Including the specific purpose with your preparation outline makes it easier to assess how well you have constructed the speech to accomplish your purpose. In the most common system of outlining, main points are identified by Roman numerals and subpoints by capital letters. It is seldom necessary to include a formal bibliography in the preparation outline for a classroom speech.…

Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet is a play about the life of a young Prince of Denmark following his father’s unnatural death. The essential story is that Hamlet is mourning for the death of his father. When his father's ghost is seen haunting the castle, Hamlet seeks out the ghost and learns that his father was murdered by Hamlet's uncle, Claudius, who has now taken the throne, and the hand of the queen in marriage. The rest of the story is focused on Hamlet seeking revenge, and his setbacks and hesitations. Although many themes are present in Hamlet, a big one being the claim of Insanity, I will discuss the theme of Betrayal as it is the most preeminent theme in the play. The whole reason the story took place was due to Claudius betraying the king, also his brother, because he was power hungry. Throughout the play we also see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern betray Hamlet, the Queen betrays Hamlet and many other instances of betrayal. This theme really gives a new meaning to Hamlet’s statement that “Something’s rotten in the state of Denmark.” In order to make the paper a valid one, I will also choose to discuss the theme of loyalty alongside betrayal as if loyalty didn’t exist, then the word betrayal would have no meaning. Furthermore, this essay will compare and contrast the two types of betrayal, treason, and justified betrayal. While there are some that might argue that betrayal is always treason (in the sense that it is never justified), Hamlet’s treacherous act of killing Claudius was very justified as Claudius had killed his parents, although both at different times, and Hamlet himself. Thus by betraying Claudius, Hamlet avenged his parent’s and his own death.…
