David Madondo Persuasive Speech
Your Honor, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, I am here today representing the Nation of South Africa in Prosecuting David Madondo, also known as Tsotsi, for one count of conspiracy to murder, one count of attempted murder, one count of assault & battery, and one count of kidnapping. Some people believe that David is innocent for his actions, and that the reason for his actions are because of the government policy and that to be able to survive he had to commit crimes, but I oppose. The way that the government runs their country is no valid reason to kill. Madondo is guilty of his actions and the crimes he has committed. To begin, David Madondo is being charged with conspiring the murder of Gumboot Dhalmini. Mr.Dhalmani was a working man, with a wife and a kid. He traveled everyday very far to be able to support his family, and give his child a somewhat decent life. A witness says that they seen the gang eyeing Mr. Dhalmani, …show more content…
Madondo is being charged for assault and battery for beating up one of the gang members, Walter “Boston” Nguza. A nearby witness recalls seeing the altercation, and gave a very descriptive scene of it, “Tsotsi stood up, as if to stretch, his arms above his head, the elbows straight but bent at the wrist and turning. He opened his mouth to yawn but instead a cry came out and with that he brought one of his arms down in a wide swinging arc, catching Boston full on the parted lips with his clenched fist.”(Fugard 26). Another witness that was closer to the fight says, “ He broke his fist into his nose.. His words were blurred by the blood and broken teeth.. Tsotsi spun around and in a few quick steps was beside Boston again. With a kick at Boston's elbow he sent him sprawling.. and a second, and a third, and a fourth time as Tsotsi went to work on him with his shoes, using the heel and the toe.”(Fugard 26&27). The battery to this whole assault was Madondo's shoe, and he should be put behind bars for committing such a gruesome

The short amount of time between the incidents brought forward also gives reason to believe that Mr. Welch acted with the intention to kill; there was a seven minute time interval between the time that Mr. Welch left the altercation to when he returned with his loaded weapon. It is inferred that there was a deliberately formed purpose to kill, and as stated in Article 118 of the UCMJ, “it is immaterial how soon afterwards it is put to action.” ( Law for Air Force Officers Cases and Materials, IV-62) Now we must consider the option of the conviction voluntary manslaughter, and again, we will dissect the elements with regards to the facts brought forward. As stated earlier Mr. Powers was in fact found dead at the scene and the death resulted from the act of the accused, who fired three shots from his weapon, leaving the victim dead within two minutes.…

Lately there have been a lot of break-ins and armed robberies in Jimboomba by ‘teenagers’. They’ve been demanding money from store clerks, some with knifes, baseball bats, and anything in between. To be honest I do not find the joy in doing such a thing, I believe that if you work hard enough to earn a living you will feel as if you have done well in this life and honestly I wouldn’t feel good knowing I have someone else’s hard earned money all to myself. I know that some of the crimes committed aren’t so bad, but the teens should be punished to learn from their mistakes, I believe that by doing so it will cause the community to feel safer and engage the government to make Jimboomba a better place to live.…

Brooks had beaten Sumner repeatedly with his cane, causing multiple severe injuries to Sumner’s head and body. The Gazette had stated in an old article that “These cut-throat Southerners will never learn to respect Northern men until someone of their number has a rapier thrust through his ribs, or feels a bullet in his thorax. It is lamentable that such should be the case; but it is not human nature to be trampled on” (Gazette, May 24th, 1856 - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). Brooks was not asked to attack Sumner and was able to escape before he was caught. Throughout the country, many people were divided on Brooks’ actions.…

Good morning everyone today I will talk about why Donald Trump should not be elected president of the United States. I think Donald Trump will never be elected president of U.S.A as he is making all of these crazy ideas like proposing to build a wall between Mexico and America and making Mexico pay for it. He also always thinks he is correct and has a hard time admitting that he is wrong. He plans to ban all Muslims until he knows what is going on and better security precautions are made.…
