Milgaard’s mother, Joyce, believed from the start of the trial that his son was innocent. She kept his case alive, she had talked to whoever would listen about his son’s case.
Justice Minister Kim Campbell, in 1991 directed the Supreme Court of Canada to review the David Milgaard conviction case.. The case was set aside in 1992, and David Milgaard was then found innocent after DNA evidence found 5 years later clear his name.
