The company takes pride in providing Canadians with quality products with easy access and competitive pricing. Loblaw focuses on supporting local produce by working with suppliers within Canada, but also promises on delivering fresh produce and high quality food items from across the globe. Certain statements are made in the beginning of the report to make the reader become more comfortable with the company and these statements greatly work in favor for the company. In Aberdeen when someone commits a crime, either felony or misdemeanor, they are usually prosecuted by the State of South Dakota. For example when someone gets their indictment, or other court paperwork, it should say at the top: State of South Dakota vs _________. Since the State is doing the prosecuting instead of the city or county, each county has their own state’s attorney’s office. This is similar to the materials discussed in class. In the book it refers to district or county attorneys; those prosecutors much like ours are elected, and prosecute crimes committed in that county. The Brown County State’s Attorney office currently has five lawyers, and four legal aids. One of those lawyers is the state’s attorney, one is the chief deputy, and the other three are regular deputy attorneys. An average salary for a state’s attorney is between $75,000-80,000; while the total budget for the whole office is approximately $700,000.…

CVS is a corporation. A corporation is one of the most known business structures. Corporations can merge or acquire other businesses as an attempt to raise capital by reaching different markets and expanding the company. On Dec. 16, 2015 CVS declared its acquisition of targets pharmacy for around one point nine billion dollars. This deal was made so a CVS pharmacy would take place of every target pharmacy. This is an excellent example of how the corporations use acquiring other companies to broaden the corporation. This deal had a vast impact on CVS. Conforming to Mr. Trevors article, “CVS Earnings: Strong Performance Driven by Acquisitions and Growth In Specialty Business”, Mr.Trevor states “The acquisition of Target’s more than 1,600 pharmacy departments and 80 medical clinics makes CVS’ network of pharmacies the largest among its competitors. (Trevor, 2016, para. 5)” CVS taking targets 1,600 pharmacy departments and 80 medical clinics differentiates this company from its competitors because it is the largest pharmacy company. In addition with merging and acquisitions corporations is known for its effective advantages which including the selling of shares, its limit in liability and marketing power.…

Young Goodman Brown: This story was confusing at first, but after the second read through I found the story of Goodman Brown to be a great revelation that people aren’t always who they seem to be. When Goodman Brown meets up with the older man, he is essentially meeting up with the devil. The devil then weaves Goodman Brown into what is described as a dream, although to me as well as Goodman Brown, it is possible that it was not a dream. In Goodman Brown’s “dream”, Goodman Brown is lead to a sort of “evil ceremony” where he discovers many surprising people attending such as the minister of the church, Deacon Gookin, and his own wife, Faith. Seeing these people who Goodman Brown thought to be pious, Goodman Brown awakens from his “dream” with a new vision of the world. After the devil’s “dream” Goodman Brown is convinced that everyone is evil and loses his trust in the people of Salem. It was when Faith, Goodman Brown’s wife, was revealed to be attending the ceremony did Goodman Brown really start to lose his trust. When Goodman Brown saw his wife, as well as the ribbons falling from her cap, Goodman Brown lost this idea of female purity. Again, at first the story of Goodman Brown was a little confusing, but the second time around the story represented the great illusion that all people are pure due to moral choice and the illusion of female purity.…

The first report I found from http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-20084254 was for Winterbourne View care home for people with disabilities the report says eleven care workers male and female were involved. One victim was showered fully clothed and had mouth wash poured into her eyes , while another was asked if they wanted their face grated with a cheese grater , the abuse got so much for one patient that he tried jumping out of his window from the second floor to then be mocked by the care workers, this all came to light by BBC One Panorama doing undercover recordings it was told to CQC that ignored the complaint. After the recordings were shown on BBC one the eleven care workers admitted to 38 different charges of abuse and neglect, six were jailed between six months to two years while the other five were on suspended sentences, the CQC said it was misjudgement that the concerns had not been investigated.…
