Dawn-Personal Narrative
There was this beautiful sorrel, 14.2 hand, quarter horses. Her name was Dawn, her full name was Misty Dawn. She was so sweet and I was proud to call her my own. Technically she wasn’t always mine she was my mine at the time, she was my mom's. Dawn was born at my mom’s house, had her till I was old enough to ride by myself. She was the horse that taught me how to ride, at least started to.
The problems began four years ago, I went to my friend Selah’s house for a sleepover I went over there like any other time. When we were most likely asleep, my parents were trying to cure Dawn from colic. They walked her around the arena trying to keep her from laying down. When she did lay down she was in her stall and my mom’s horse joker was trying and hoping that she would stand back up. the had and unbreakable bond. they would always be friends. I wasn’t there at all. Dawn wasn’t getting better she was getting worse. So my parents took her to the vet.

So my parent were looking everywhere because 4-h horse pre-fair was right around the corner. Finally they found one it was a Sorrel mare. when you looked at her you thought she was an angle. So we went to Dallas I think, when we got there the people brought her out timidly and tied her to a post. Once we got some information from them my mom went to tack her up and the horse wouldn’t even let her put the saddle on. So my mom said no we aren't buying this horse.
The people selling him felt bad so they offered to sell us a different horse. So they brought out this scraggly, malnourished, black and white paint. His feet were like pancakes and chipped really bad, he had a hay belly to make him look fatter. He was so willing though, he was honestly beautiful to me. I fell in love with him, but we almost didn’t buy him I was crying in the truck. Then my mom gave and the people that were selling him dropped the price, and we bought

I have always love horses, and as a little girl one of my favorite movies was Spirit: a movie set in the 1800s about a wild mustang who is captured by the U.S army and embarks on a long journey back home to his family. I loved this movie not only because of the many horses, but also because I related with Spirit’s struggles. When I was very young my parents got divorced and my dad won custody of my little sister and I. At that young age I felt like I lost my mother because even though I still got to talk to her on the phone, I missed her arms around me when I was sad and that special relationships mothers and daughters share. Spirit lost his mom when he was captured and so I felt like he understood me.…

Hola Diana, hope you are enjoying your week, and a happy easter to you too. Yes I saw those videos of the ice bridge collapsing , it must have been amazing to be there hearing all the noises of the ice craking and the thunderous sound of it falling into the lake, you wouldn't want to be in a fishing boat there when that crashed. Not looking forward to this saturday without the 60's show, and it will be sad to loose the people that can't make the sunday slot. I'll post this bit before it crashes again.…

The horse is a highly respected animal in United States culture. It has been worshipped and paid tribute to through art, books (Misty of Chincoteague, Black Stallion), movies (Black Beauty, Spirit), and television shows (Mr. Ed). The horse industry is huge in the United States, encompassing everything from rodeos and racing to horses owned for purely pleasure. There have been statues erected of famous racehorses, as well as museums devoted entirely to equines. "Horse culture" is a huge part of American culture. The slaughter of horses for human consumption does not seem to fit into that culture. However, despite initial reservations, many Americans may agree that the slaughter of horses is better than alternatives.…

I have always been passionate about animals, especially dogs and horses. It is a joke in my family as nobody can figure out where this obsession came from. My whole family consists of city people, born and raised in Berlin, Germany. When this love started, I can’t remember, but it was at a very young age. I remember wanting to take horseback riding lessons when I was about 7 years old. I was very shy, so my Dad had to buy riding gear for himself and take the lessons with me. Now that I have a son of my own, I want to afford him the same privileges as I had and share my love of animals.…

Since childhood, I have loved horses. At first, when I told my parents I wanted to ride they disapproved claiming it was “too risky”. My Father always used the example of the actor Christopher Reed, better known as Superman, being paralysed for life due to a bad horse accident. Eventually, I was able to convince my parents and I was allowed to do dressage, or as I call it “Horse Ballet”. At first I was thrilled that I could ride, but over time “Horse Ballet” became too tedious for my liking.…
