Throughout the documents there have been negatives some less than others. For example in document #2 “My Boy” the mother is missing her son and she doesn’t see him that much because she is working all the time in the factory. Her son is also possibly working in a factory and is not in school so there for it affect them both. So there for they don’t see each other as much as there would like. This is due to the fact that there are no labor laws at the time so they are working for little to no pay from the factory owner. They are also given the task of every long work hours like 16 hour shifts. On top of that the factories had no ventilation so the …show more content…
factory rooms were hot and whatever made its way into the air it stayed there and they would breathe that every day.
In the third document it shows that the factories are placed in the towns next to the river.
These early versions were not the best the polluted the waters and the air around it with the coals emissions. The air became full of dust from the coal burning that it started to blanker the town in it and also went into the drinking water. So the people of the town then started to get sick because of the chemicals that are in the water, the local farms in the area were hit pretty bad the crops died cause of the polluted water and the livestock died or got sick. The factory also had bad working conditions there was no ventilation for the workers. The workers also had faced the 14 to 16 hour work days in these factory’s, when the workers got hurt the faced no pay or they got fired or was forced to continue working. Later the assembly line was brought into effect this made the stress on the workers a bit less cause they don’t have to worry about messing up on of the products but now they just have to do one step so it makes the job a bit
easier.
People start to try and find better transportation to get their products moved across areas faster so they made the railroads these were nice but to build them was very labor intensive and some people did die in the process of building them. When the railroad was built more factories were built more inland along with more cities and towns. But with the increase in factories means more labor and most of the adults were already working so they started using child labor for the workers and this lead to deformation and stunted growth. Due to these effects in the kids there were labor laws put into effect a few years later to prevent kids from working in the factories.
