Course Description:
This course explores technical and managerial challenges of project management in general and provides students with up-to-date information on how good project, program, and portfolio management can help companies achieve organizational success. The topics addressed in this course range from project selection techniques, project planning, budgeting, risk analysis, resource management to project monitoring and termination. It is suitable for all majors and emphases.
The purpose of this course is to teach students successful techniques to manage the scope, budget, schedule, and quality of projects, in addition to teaching students how to perform several project management tasks. The goal is to understand how project management decisions are reached, what trade-offs are made, and how outcomes depend on the underlying situation.
This course provides as well hands-on training performed in the computer LAB to train students on how to use Microsoft Project Software. It even prepares the students to plan taking the PMP certification known worldwide to improve their careers. A Final “Real” Project is performed by students at the end of the course and is presented for evaluation.
