Dean Koontz Biography Essay
Author Biography | Dean Koontz
After receiving a degree in English Shippensburg State College in 1967 Dean Koontz started his professional career as an English teacher. However at night he was writing and in 1968 he published his first book Star Quest.
In the 1970’s Koontz was writing suspense and horror books prolifically, sometimes turning out eight novels a year. After writing full time for over ten years Koontz finally penned his breakthrough novel Whispers in 1980. Soon followed Demon Seed which went on to become his first paperback bestseller, selling over two million copies in only one year.
Since then he has had twelve hardcover and thirteen paperbacks reach #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List. No less than 14 of his books have
