Dear Principal Farley
Dear Principal Farley, I am writing to you to discuss me completing high school early. After putting a lot of work into my high school career I would like to start a new part of my life, a new chapter. It’s always been a goal of mine to succeed and graduate and for me, completing high school early would be an even bigger bonus. I have worked hard to receive all my credits and pass each class, even if I struggled and it would be a honor to complete high school early. You probably get many kids who want to graduate early for all the wrong reasons, but I am not one of them. It wouldn't be me relaxing everyday. After completing school I plan to work full time, at least 40 hours a week so I can save up for college. Books, classes, gas are things …show more content…
It has always been more than just a goal for me.it’s an achievement, It's proof that labels and stereotypes don't define anyone in the end. Growing up in the foster care system, many people form assumptions about who you will become and what your future will hold. People always assume kids growing up in the system are troubled. They assume we will turn out like our biological parent or take the negative path of life. People never believed in me while I was in foster care. No one ever encouraged me to try hard in school, no one ever said “you can do whatever you put your mind to”. I was never encouraged to do my best and was never shown which path to take whether it be good or bad. No one ever believed in me until I was adopted and to this day the only reason I am where I am is because of one person and there non stop effort to help me grow be and be successful. This person's effort was my mom, jessica hardisty. My mother is the reason I am where I am today. She has sacrificed so many things to help raise me and to help me become a successful women. Raising me wasn't a easy job I caused tears to fall, I started fights with her and some days I just made life miserable. She spent endless days arguing with me about homework and school. She had to deal with all the crap I put her through, and I look back now and I realize that if it wasn't for her being strict and hard on me I wouldn't have made it this

My goal has been to be prepared and sometimes ahead of what’s coming, even if it has meant giving up some free time on evenings and the weekends. I have and continue to work hard to achieve my goals and take pride in my accomplishments thus far. I am never happy with something that is anything than less than my best effort. This applies across my academics and my favorite pastime of playing travel baseball.…

Throughout my entire life, I have found that hard work and dedication can help me achieve any goal that I set. I have overcome the separation and lack of decent parents, incarceration of my oldest brother, and many other events with the morals and skills that were taught to me by my grandparents (who are my legal guardians). Due to their influence and love, I have always put my best foot forward and looked at the world with optimism. Since the second grade, I have been in gifted/honor courses, exceeded through my classes, and have made many friends. My backbone does not consist of selfish desires or influences; it consists of my morals and the family and friends that I do have pushing me to change the world.…

All my goals lead into each other helping me grow and develop into a better person that can now be ready for change. By having the right mindset and setting out to do the goals I said I would I have overcome so much in such a little amount of time. Just like how William Pollard said it best in his quote that I had quoted earlier in my paper about those who are not ready to make that change will be left behind and I for sure do not want to be left…

It’s easy to make a goal rather than to achieve it. However, with determination one can succeed in accomplishing it. I have accomplished one of many goals in my list and that's to attend college. In my family not a lot attended college or even finished high school, so accomplishing this goal is a big subject of matter to my family.Getting this far is even a big accomplishment in my eye’s, especially when you break free from an assembly line of generations that never had attended college. The feeling is still overwhelming, mainly because I’m the first of many generations in my family to accomplish something big like…

I think since I make it a passion of mine,it really gives me motivation to strive for the very best. In the past I would start on a project, then lose focus and start on something else , then so on and so forth. Now , since I have grown to realize not accomplishing a goal does not make me any better or put me in a better place. So by achieving a goal,it puts me in a way better place and a couple of steps closer to where I want to end up in the end of my time. I want to make myself better I want to set an example for my brothers , sisters , and younger cousins. Also , I like to make my parents , and grandparents proud of me. It really shows them that I care about how I live my life and they feel as if they are also setting a good example for…

Hello, I am so honored to speak in front of all the parents, staff and my fellow students today. Wow guys we made it! These past 3 years have been full of so many memories that I know we’ll never forget. Think all the way back to 6th grade we were always the littlest ones and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. We were terrified of getting lost or being late for class, but excited to have a locker to decorate and change classes each period. It doesn’t seem like that was over 2 years ago at all. We came back in 7th grade, much more confident than the year before. We looked down to the new 6th graders, asking "Were we really that short just last year?" And by the end of 7th grade I was shocked that I was officially an 8th grader. 8th grade is defiantly my favorite year. I feel like I have everything under control. But next year is full of changes. We'll have free periods, more homework, electives, and an open campus. The new choices also bring new responsibilities that test us in figuring out how we grow from kids to adults. As we say goodbye on the last day we sit together as Balboa students, we reflect on what has happened the past 3 years, but also look forward to what is coming up in the next 4 years. My advice to future 8th graders is to keep up with your school work and try your absolute best and make lots of good, loyal friends that don’t get you in the bad kind of crowd. And most importantly, have fun! This is the last year you will be the oldest in the school for another 4 years, so enjoy it! I’d like to finish this speech off with this quote : A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.-Ayn Rand…
