Willy wants his son to go into business world and to become well liked. He does not take into consideration what Biff wants. You can tell when Biff says “Pop, I’m nothing, I’m nothing Pop… I just am what I am that’s all… I’m not a leader of men, and neither are you.” (P.131). Willy always wanted Biff to become a leader of men and now he is depressed because he see’s it as him falling as a father. Biff resents his father for raising him to be something he is not. Comparing James and Tim, they have a much healthier relationship. James gives Tim the responsibility to make his own choices. For example, when James tells Tim about traveling through time, Tim says he will use his ability to find love. (About Time). James does not judge or try to change Tim’s decision he just accepts it and let’s Tim shape his own life. James and Tim’s happiness goes to show how giving the freedom of making decisions and supporting them creates a healthy father son
