no pity for you, you hear it? No pity!” (Miller, 1949). Willy to Linda in return stated many things in front of Biff including “You hear the Spite!” (Miller, 1949). Willy blamed Biff for his shortcomings, when in fact, Willy was part of the reason Biff never thought more of himself as well.
Besides Willy’s inner circle the world outside did not help much either.
Society and cultural of the world is much focused on success and wealth (“Arthur Miller’s Death Of A Salesman As Social Commentary”, n.d.). The world we live in has many greedy people in it. Those thinking that they are failures, if are not rich. These people are everywhere and will do whatever it takes even hurting others in the meantime to get what they want. For instance, Willy’s boss, the original bosses’ son. He dismissed him and pushed him further into his own mind, as he took over. This just added to the mental instability of Willy. Willy thought he was grand at his job and needed his huge ego feed by others that he was; yet, this was not the fact anymore. He was older and in fact, not well liked. He had needed to boast over the years too much, loved himself more than others to much, and in the end made more people hated him than loved him. I know people like this and in time they are just too much to
take.
