I have learned more about what have that others do not and ways to help fix that. The feeling that I have helped someone in need is addictive. My family and I have put together shoeboxes filled with toys for kids overseas who do not normally receive Christmas presents. Now the other Debs and I are purchasing food for children who live in Meridian and may even go to our schools that do not have enough money for food on the weekends. School cafeterias give these certain students reduced lunches during the week, but he or she may not get meals on the weekends. Many of us take for granted our stocked pantries and refrigerators. These kids cannot say that, but it feels wonderful to try to change his or her situation-even just a little bit. with work skills, communication skills, and has made me more passionate about helping others.
