Debut Albums and Bright Star
One bright star

Suddenly my eyes were dazzled,
I could hardly see at all.
The music in my ears: such a heavenly call!
As I stood I felt a wonder
That I’ve never felt before
Although my heart was full I just wanted more!

And then as we shepherds listened,
We heard angels sing on high:
Our Saviour had been born! Praises filled the sky!
So the celebration started
As the life of Christ began.
The King of love was born for the sake of man.

One bright star shone out that night,
Bringing hope to all mankind.
One bright star shone out to say “He is born”
One bright star that promised peace
And no more fighting
One bright star (one bright star)
Just one bright star (one bright star)
Just one bright star to take us there.

Then we knew just what to do,
So we ran to find the child,
To seek the new-born King,
Welcome him in style.
And we gave our minds and hearts
On this very special night
To baby Jesus,
Son of Man and God’s pure light.

Chorus – one bright star shone out……….
One bright star… One bright star …
One bright star… one bright star!

Come on Christmas

Come on Christmas, why don’t you hurry along?
(Come on Christmas! come on Christmas!)
Come on Christmas why’s it taking you so long?
(Come on Christmas! come on Christmas!)
I’ve waited since the first of January,
But Christmas never seems any closer to me.
Oh – come on Christmas, I’ve been waiting so long.

Come on Christmas, why don’t you hurry along?
(Come on Christmas! come on Christmas!)
Come on Christmas why’s it taking you so long?
(Come on Christmas! come on Christmas!)
I’m so excited I can hardly breathe,
‘Cos now it’s December, now it’s Christmas eve…
Oh – come on Christmas, I’ve been waiting so long.

So exciting you can feel it in the air.
It’s coming closer all the time
Look around, you can see it everywhere:
Christmas lights are going to shine, shine, shines!

Come on Christmas, why don’t you hurry along?
(Come on Christmas!

The aim of this essay is to discuss the decision that the protagonist from Richard Wright’s ‘Bright and Morning star’, Aunt Sue, a black mother of two sons, has to make in order to chose between her sons’ life and the safety of the Communist members from her community. This story is, among others written by Richard Wright, a ‘dark portrayal of black Communist life’ and it analyses the inner struggle of Aunt Sue as a black woman and ‘mother of Communists’ (1).…

“Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way”, this melody always brings a warm comfort in my heart. They’re countless holiday songs that stay timeless and we nerve tire of hearing them year after year. I also find a sense of tranquility, as I hear the choir sing the angelic, Silent Night. From whimsical to spiritual, the sounds of Christmas enhance the experience each year.…

I was given a puzzle a couple of months ago from a friend of mine, it had 1,500 pieces. I haven’t put together a puzzle since I was a kid. Things that brought us so much joy as a child, we stop doing when we reach a certain age - it’s a shame, isn’t it?…
