Debut Albums and Greatest Achievement
"To be the best and stay there sweat is necessary.
I'm older. Of course I'm older. That's the beauty of it.
Sixteen years plus different level of wisdom. Different level of understanding. Different level of punishment. i want to live loooong after my records have fallen, long after my rings have tarnished.
Whatever you got to do to make sure you chase your legacy. Every second of your life.
How will you be remembered? How will you be remembered?
Why wouldn't you fight for the greatest achievement ever?
Leave your mark to endure forever."

In today’s society, there are not that many distinctions between juveniles and adults when it comes to the criminal justice system. The main distinction between an adult and a juvenile is of course the age and the types of sentencing a juvenile may receive compared to an adult. The juvenile justice system has a tiered affect when it comes to sentencing but it relies heavily on the maturity and intellect of the juvenile. Due to that reason, there will always be a separate juvenile justice system to ensure the juvenile truly understands the nature of the crime and the consequences.…

A merger would eliminate the differential treatment; the tendency of officials to want “to set an example” of the almost adult juvenile; and the difficulty of knowing the offender’s true age, which is often misrepresented in order to be handled in one system over the other (Hirschi & Gottfredson, 1993; Dawson, 1990).…

States have the option at what age a person is classified to be an adult and many had 16 years of age as the time that the person will be tried as an adult. Many states that do have the 16 year old as an adult are changing this from 16 to 18. According to Mosi Secret, (2011) in an article written in the New York Times (2011, p. 1) “as many states change the rule from 16 to 18 years of age New York may be the only state left where adulthood in criminal matters starts at the 16th birthday.” The reason for this change is that a consensus is emerging that the young delinquents have been mishandled by the adult court system. These changes were from studies showing that older adolescents differ from adults in making sound decisions and benefit more on treatment then incarceration (Mosi Secret, 2011, p. 1).…

This is a reverse double standard. In a case in New Jersey, a 43-year-old teacher had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old male student and was sentenced to 5 years’ probation. Her actions were statutory rape and she should have been sentenced 5 to 10 years in prison. The judge did not see any harm was done felt that the child was not psychologically damaged and was just satisfying his needs (Kupelian, 2006). A 36-year-old male teacher in the same state was given an 8.5-year sentence in prison (with life-long parole) for having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old female student, and was also required to register as a sex offender, surrender his teaching license, and had all employment in the public sector revoked (Markos, 2008). The judge in this case said that he made her a woman before her time. Even though they are the same sex crimes they should have received the same sentence. It should not matter a person’s gender; this is a double…

However, while I subscribe to that logic for the most part, an individual that is juvenile still knows right from wrong and should be held accountable for their actions. An offender’s age should be considered when determining sentencing. You would not sentence a five year or ten year old child to death for an event that ended the life of another and if you attempted to do so, the public outcry would be enormous. Maybe not as easily as an eye for an eye, but they still should serve a sentencing term that is categorical upon based on the crime committed. However, as the juvenile offender gets closer to the legal adult age, the more they are aware of what they did and the consequences must be taken into consideration. If you have a seventeen year old who committed murder and they willingly discussed planning it ahead of time, then yes they should receive the stiffest punishment possible and the community would probably demand that. When considering the punishment for the juvenile offender, age, crime committed, and the law regarding punishment for that crime should be taken into account. For any legal manner, there is no clear answer to why this punishment should be and why it should not, you should just consider the facts as they are…
