Effective Leadership
When we ask ourselves a question, what is an effective leadership, we normally observe such aspects as influence, strategy, visions, powerful ideas, inspiration, emotional intelligence and many others. Choosing a leadership style could be one of the most crucial decisions for the business. To begin with, a leader is a person, who influences other people in order to achieve goals. Put it in another way, he/she is an inspiration and director of the action. The secret of effective leadership does not depend on what the leader is doing, but on how he or she is doing it. There are two ways of influencing others: through the power of rewards, punishment or through the inspiration and emotional intelligence.
According to Perot (1930), great leaders must: “Lead and inspire people. Do not try to manage and manipulate people. Inventories can be managed but people must be lead. “ Therefore, there are two types of leadership; one of them is transformational, which is identified by inspiring followers and motivating them. The other type is transactional, which provides workers with rewards if they do what leaders have requested.
Nowadays, most leaders are using transformational type of leadership, they try to inspire and motivate their followers, but it is critical to understand that probably EI is the key element for effective leadership. It can be possible that without being emotionally intelligent, a leader cannot be effective.
