Domestic violence and open road safety are two of the most exemplified things to impact the meaning of image to the viewer. The reason behind this is most likely because of the fact that they can be identified by the greater community and very negative things. The use of the view point is used quite elegantly is the pectoral image. The marvelous uses of imagery and implementation in this image is utilized in every thing from the color scheme to the use of major issues of society to prove a major point to the viewer. This entire add is rendered ineffective because of the vast differences in both issues even though the color scheme is great. To start simply the color scheme is a demise part of the underlining message of this image. The dark background along with the dark hair of the woman is used to push the views attention onto the more vibrant aspect such as the color of the cars wich is the main focal point of the image. The cars are another way the attention is drawn mainly by the subtle implications made such as the females car is yellow (a soft color) and resembles the type of car a mother would take her child to soccer practice in. The bright red (a color that is used to display agression) semi tuck is used on a dirty and hairy man like arm colliding head on with the females chin. The second glance sees woman getting struck by a man. A look of pain stricken across her face brings attention to the angst she is feeling. The size of the mans fist compared to the size of the females is another aspect that is used to portray a message. Try to image if you will if instead it was a petite female hand pictured and how it would change the perception, it would probably take away so of the drama used to send a message. The fact that is a mans hand used send the message of subtle domestic violence wich is recognized by the overall community as a appalling act.
Now the similar parts between the two needs to be viewed. Ask you self what is the major differences between domestic violence and car accidents. First off auto accidents are usably just that. Accidents can happen to anyone on the road, but when displayed in association with something much more deliberate such as hitting a woman, most of that falls to the waist side. The general public stops viewing an accident as such and relates it to something much more deliberate. What this dose is it gives the overall message much more power than it would alone. Generally speaking the people wont think back to the fender bender they had last year when viewing this but they will image a much more intense picture of what it must be like to get head on by a semi-truck going full speed. The text is on the lower left hand side of the image. The color scheme is orange (a bright color) and white (a neutral color). First the location is as such because it is meant to be one of the last things noticed in the image. This is probably because the imagery of the picture depicts a dual meaning and speaks many heavy messages on its own. It reads "Stop the violence, Don't speed" in two different colors. Stop the violence is in white while Dont speed is colored orange. This creates a natural separation between the two statements to further show the comparison. Using stop the violence first and dont speed second once again uses the negative view points that society has on striking women, then uses that to enhance the message of drive safely. In my honest option the statement portrayed if a bit off and renders it slightly in effective to the general public. The dynamics of this image speaks volume admittedly but the fact of the matter is it is much to dramatic of a compression and the actual meaning loses power in the long run of things. This image is to promote safe driving but the comparison is used in a foreshadow to domestic abuse which is the greater of the two when it comes to a sense of wrong domestic abuse greatly outweighs speeding to this viewer. This is why for the simple fact I personally feel that this is rendered inaffective simply because the comparison is so wildly different that simple assassin is not at all effective. Overall I would rate this a ten out of ten when it comes to creativity and color scheme but at most a five out of ten for effectiveness. The color scheme is bright and vibrant, it naturally brings brings attention to the important parts of the image. The visually striking colors chosen was its saving grace. This coupled along with the repression of colors in the large scale to portray and intake emotional dynamic, but the overall message was lost to me somewhere in translation. The down side of this however is not a slight detail that can be over looked. The glaring fact that the two issues portrayed, domestic violence and speeding dont not have enough in common with each other to be roped together and to dilative and over all message . It its because of these differences that even when presented as nicely as this with all the vibrant colors they can not carry the same message as a unified voice. My overall evaluation of this is the image is good not great and apron a deeper look it leaves me with a sense of wanting a bit more.
