a) Finance – Ciencia gerencial para el mantenimiento y recreación de riquezas. Este término viene del latín y tiene como significado terminar o acabar. Su intervención atañe tanto a personas como a organizaciones, compañías y Estados debido a que tiene relación con la adquisición y empleo o diligencia del dinero. Por esa razón, e indiferentemente la profesión que se tenga, resulta ser una necesidad sobre qué es y lo que significa finanzas porque todas las personas de alguna forma divisan dinero, lo gastan, piden prestado y hay quienes invierten y enfrentan riesgos.
b) Efficient Market – El “efficient market” es aquel en el que el precio de mercado es una estimación sin sesgo del verdadero valor de la inversión. La eficiencia del mercado no necesita que el precio de mercado sea similar al valor real en todos los puntos en el tiempo. El que las desviaciones del valor real sean inciertas conlleva, de alguna forma, que haya la misma posibilidad de que los valores (stocks) sean menores o mayores de un valor no importa el momento.
c) Primary Market – Es aquí donde por primera vez se emiten los valores en el intercambio. Deuda o capital con base en valores son emitidos por compañías, gobierno y otros grupos con el fin de conseguir financiación. Esto quiere decir que enviara a la compañía o venderá valores directamente a los inversionistas a un precio decretado.
d) Secondary Market – El mercado secundario es un lugar donde los inversionistas tienen la oportunidad de comprar títulos de otro inversionista en lugar de las sociedades que difunden. El precio en el mercado es casi distinto que el precio emitido y puede ser más o menos. La garantía del emisor no se afecta por el cambio en el precio. La desigualdad de precios es la ganancia o pérdida que necesitan ser costeados por el inversionista.
e) Risk – La probabilidad de la diversidad se llama riesgo. En cortas palabras, podría definirse como la
