When you think of the word family most people think of their mom and dad or in general people they are genetically related to. Family is generally categorized by the people you live with but isn’t there more to it than that? To some family is important or just another word for close friends. I believe family is a person or a group of people you genuinely care about and would do anything for them. The word family originates from the middle english latin word “familia” which means household servants. According to etymology dictionary later on in the 1660’s family means “parents with their children, whether they dwell together or not” also “persons closely related by blood, including aunts, uncles, cousins”. Even though this is true I think “friends” is a better synonym. Friends are people we trust and put our faith in. Friends are our family, they are the people we share our past, present, and future with. They are the people we would not be able to live without and will always be there just like family is. Many people consider any type of team they are apart of as family. Soccer players on a team create a special bond with each other. They all share a common characteristic making them become closer to each other. Teams spend most of their days together and learn a lot about one another. They tease and joke around with one another. Each person becomes closer to each other over time to the point where they would do anything for eachother which is essentially what family is. Family is a group of people you love that when it comes down to it there is nothing you would not do for them. I believe family is anyone you deeply care about and would do anything for. Family is and will always be anyone that you could not imagine your life without. Just because you might not be blood related to someone does not mean that you can’t consider them family. People will always go in and out of your life but who you consider your family will always be there. There is more to family then how the dictionary defines
