Growing up my family had always set certain values, and held me up to a standard. One of the values taught was loyalty. As of right now I am going through a test of loyalty. My current situation is I started a commitment here by coming to Midland University, yet after only one year of commitment I’m breaking it. Once I broke the news to my family that I am deciding to come back home I received a mixed reaction. Starting with my father, he was upset and completely against it. Explaining how this would go against everything my family believes in, referring to the phrase “You start something, you finish it”. Deciding to go back home may be against my family values in my father's opinion, but not to my mother. Especially being in a long term relationship for about half of that year! The struggle of being thirteen hours away, and only seeing each other during breaks or summer. Loyalty is important in many different factors in life, if my parents hadn’t teached me loyalty I doubt I’d be in a relationship right now. To form a healthy relationship you have to start with loyalty, especially being in long term relationship (I’m in college so yes 1 year relationship is long). Having a girlfriend is a great test of
