The feeling of guilt is an emotion associated with many others such as remorse, regret, or even denial. When you put yourself in the situation of feeling guilty, it is an emotion you cannot compare. You feel as if everyone is blaming you, and only you, for something that you might of done wrong, or you are just one of those people that is really hard on themselves when they should not be. Guilt to me is being distracted from work and giving a “deer in the headlights” look more than you could imagine. Guilt is a form of self criticism that can beat your ego like a drummer hits their drum. Guilt to me is being paranoid. Guilt doesn’t actually have to come after something you have done, it can occur just thinking about something that goes against your own morals or beliefs. This is a tough type of guilt to handle. It is true that you didn’t actually commit the act so you have nothing to hide. However, we all know that the very fact that you’re contemplating an act that violates your own standards can be as guilt-provoking as the act itself. When experiencing guilt after a certain situation, you notice how it chews up your happiness little by little. Day in and day out you have nothing else bothering you except for why you are feeling this awful feeling. It becomes something you regret until you make amends with it.
