Definition Of Inequality
What do you think the book definition of equality is? Do you think of a math equation or equality between people? This is the definition I got from a dictionary from the school library. “e·qual·i·ty, noun, a symbolic expression of the fact that two quantities are equal; an equation.” Is that what equality means to you? What about jobs, beliefs, and racial equality? We have all these privileges because of our dedicated Veterans.
When your parents go to work, they probably don’t think about it too much. What if instead of riding the bus home, your mom was home all day cooking and cleaning. But she isn’t home because she has equal rights to have a well-paid job like a man. Women have this privilege because we aren’t confined, our Vets have put

Whether you believe in a God or not, it changes our point of view on a lot of topics that we wouldn’t expect. I mean, when people first settled in our country they wanted to get away from religious persecution! These 700 hundred years of religious freedom wasn’t going to go to waste by letting another person or country take over us. We fought for everything, so now you could go to church every Sunday and praise your God. Or not go to church at all and worship want or whoever you want. So many people are thankful for these things without even knowing that our Veterans shaped our country to be like this.
Think about your best friend. Are they the same race or ethnicity? They probably came from a different country than you and maybe have different religious beliefs. Why is this possible? Because we have people that care for us and want us to be happy. We have so many different races and cultures because we are a free country, thanks to our Veterans. This type of quality has the most weight on the topic, but why? Because you are lighter skinned or darker? Most of this segregation has been stopped through public figures and our Veterans.
After hearing about all this freedom we have, has your definition of equality changed? After reading the definition in our dictionary, I decided to Google the word equality. This is what came up, “e·qual·i·ty, noun, the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities.” The meaning of this

Equality is about creating a fairer society where everyone can participate and has the same opportunity to fulfil their potential. Equality is backed by legislation designed to address unfair discrimination based on membership of a particular group. A more detailed list is provided in our strategy but some of the Acts you may be most familiar with are: Race Relations Act 1976, Sex Discrimination Act 1975, Disability Discrimination Act 1995. The duties encompassed in these acts are now brought together under the Equality Act 2010 and have, in some areas, been extended.…

Equality is supposed to mean the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities. This society is anything but. People are set into houses from the time they are born, from the time that they die, not being able to be free. That’s the thing though, they don’t want anyone to be free, they have their eyes…

Equality is ensuring that all individuals or groups of people are treated fairly and no less favourably than others, but it does not mean that everyone is to be treated exactly the same. Equality is all about treating people in a way that is appropriate for their needs; for example if a woman in a wheelchair wanted to get on a plane it would be no use saying “I am treating you equally to the other passengers, here are the stairs.” What is needed in that situation is a way for her to board the plane without embarrassing her or treating her in a worse way than the other passengers, this is equality.…
