On Love According to the Oxford English Dictionary, love defines as “feel deep affection for someone,” which means to have a crush on someone, and people want to be stay with him or her or even get married. On the other hand, love can define as “someone or something that people care about,” which means excepting for the affection for men and women, people concern about someone or something and they want to protect them from getting hurt. However, the definition of love from dictionary is narrow, and love can be many types of forms such as parent to child, friend to friend, teacher to student, and so on. To begin with, parents are the only people in the world that would love their children unconditionally. As the saying goes, “Blood is thicker than water.” No matter what children do or how many mistakes they make, parents will always accept and forgive them. Parents guide their children toward the right path and teach them the morals in life. Parents devote their whole lives to support their children and encourage them to do the right thing. Therefore, the bond between parents and children is so strong that it cannot be broken apart.

A couple of days ago, I was watching a movie where an English teacher asks her students to discuss ‘what is love’. Majority of the class did not know how to respond. At first, I found this odd considering that love is a universally understood emotion that can be felt by most human beings. We express the emotion on a daily basis, whether it be towards our family, friends, or significant others. However, upon some introspection, I realized that it is difficult to come up with a solid definition for it because of its subjective nature. Love exists in many different forms and holds different meanings for different people.…

Friendship is a very powerful word. As children are growing up, their parents and family give them a taste of what friendship really is all about. Starting at a young age, it is smart for parents to teach children the significance of friendship. A friend should be someone who tells the other individual when they are doing wrong. They should influence them to do good, give them a shoulder to cry on, and be that person to talk to when sad. Friendships change over time as you move from childhood to adulthood, however, friendship exists in the positive relationships a person builds.…

Love by definition is an emotion explored in philosophy, religion, and literature, often as either romantic love, the fraternal love of others, or the love of God based on the definition found in The Encarta Encyclopedia. As I explored the definition by means of the Internet, books, and articles I noticed the definitions changed quite a bit, but yet had the same basic understanding. The definition I found in The Encarta Encyclopedia was probably the most simple and most basic. It refers to love in the whole aspect, which is Godly, fraternal, and romantic. All in which can only be defined by one word and that it love.…

The biggest difficulty with this word was defining it. There are many thoughts and opinions on the definition of love. I don’t agree with all but I found one that I believe to be very true. To me love is seeing someone at his or her worst and their best and still loving them with all their heart. It is accepting the person for who they are and not changing them. Love also includes attraction, physical and mental, but most importantly it involves commitment, respect, loyalty, and trust. You can not force these things upon people, it is a natural thing. Love has a lot to do with fate, which I believe in.…
