Deforestation: Carbon Dioxide and New Land Area
Persuasive Essay.

Destruction of the world’s forest in an inevitable consequence of worldwide improvement in the standard of living. Discuss.

Imagine that life without green tree, imagine people are snatching oxygen and started to do anything they can get the oxygen. When people started to sweat, to breath hardly, to think hard what had they do for their past to the nature. It happen when deforestation occurred! By definition, deforestation means the cutting or removal of trees from woodlands or forests in order to convert the land into commercial or logging reasons or for whatever purpose it may serve them (Hata 2008). People agree with deforestation because of agriculture and increasing of population. Deforestation is risky to environment and human being because it can cause erosion of soil, increases of temperature which also global warming and loss in biodiversity.

The biggest driver of deforestation is agriculture. Farmers cut the forests to supply more ground for plant crops or grazing livestock. This new land area contributes a much needed place to grow up a food provide to deal with the planet's steadily increasing population of humanity. This results in better and more abundant production of food and materials, virtually eradicating periods of want and lack. Economically, deforestation has contributed much in giving many communities the chances to make changes in their lives (Fiset 2011).

Deforestation is needed for developing a new place when civilization starts to grow and the needed of the land for urbanization and industrialization. When there is rising number of human occur, deforestation are needed to make human live in more comfortable life (Lad 2011). The people demand will continue to enhance especially in living lifestyle and education. If there’s no expansion of land for new places, where should the overpopulation people stay and study?

In deforestation, it can help country increase the economic and also the human being to having more comfortable lifestyle. But the negative consequences of deforestation far prevail over its positive effects. Deforestation still brings more disadvantages to environment and human being.

Deforestation will cause affect to our soil. When the forest have been slash and cleared for planting crops, the soil has been exposed to the sun and it making the soil very dry and indirectly caused the nutrient reservoir is lost, flooding and erosion rates are high, and soils often become unable to support crops in just a few years. If the area is then turned into cattle pasture, the ground may become compressed as well, slowing down or preventing forest recovery (Lindsey 2007). It also will bring to the catastrophe such as landslides. It not only destroys the environment but also caused death in few countries like Malaysia.

The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased. The continued of cutting off the forest have enhanced the risk of global warming since the trees that take up carbon dioxide to be used in photosynthesis are gone (Fiset 2007). Trees also play a serious role in take in the greenhouse gases that fuel global warming. The smaller the forests are, the larger amount of greenhouse gases inflowing the atmosphere and also will raise the speed and severity of global warming (National Geographic 2011). When the temperature increases, it will cause ice melting and the increasing of the water level. Study shown that “sea levels are predictable to increase between 7 and 23 inches by the end of the century, and continued melting at the poles could add between 4 and 8 inches if global warming continued” (National Geographic 2011).

When the trees have been cut down, it push wild animal to leave their own natural habitat. The unique biodiversity of a variety of geographical areas is being lost on a scale that is fairly unparalleled. Deforestation demolishes genetic variations and results in a permanent loss of different rare plant, animal and insect species.(Borade 2011). Although that the tropical rainforests only make up 6 percent of the surface area in the earth, but there is about 80 to 90 percent of the total species of the world continue their living here. But because of the enormous deforestation, it caused almost 50 to 100 species of animals are being lost in every each day. In the end, it caused a very big scale of extinction of the animals and plants (Putatunda 2011).

Deforestation is not a local problem, it is international problem since in every corner of countries, there’s deforestation occurred. Damaging the forests not only effect human living standards, but also effect the planet and every living things in this planet. Forests are one of the Mother’s Earths greatest sources of live. Deforestation should not be applied in every country and should be banded to protect the environment. By reforestation, the species of trees and plant will not be extinct. It also only can be avoided with the cooperation of human being by supporting the event or campaign that protests deforestation. Destruction of world’s forest can be avoided from the worldwide improvement in the standard of living. For getting a better environment, better society and for the better life for the next generation, stop deforestation and make there’s a hope for a green future.

The main idea of the article is the affect of deforestation on the environment, wildlife and climate change. Deforestation results in soil deterioration. Forests store nutrients that are required for all plant life. Without trees to fill these roles, many forest’s lands can quickly become barren deserts. Deforestation also impacts the habitat for million species. Majority of Earth’s land animals and plants live in forests, and many cannot survive the deforestation that destroys their homes. Deforestation also drives climate change. Forest soils are moist, but without protection from sun-blocking tree cover they quickly dry out. Trees also help conserve the water cycle by returning water vapor back into the atmosphere. Trees remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through photosynthesis. Cutting down forests will cause a decline in photosynthetic activity which results in the…

Deforestation is the cutting down of a large area of trees and the destruction of forests by people. Forests are what we call an exhaustible resource, one which can be used up if it is not used carefully. Over the last few decades, deforestation has threatened the rainforests with total extinction. To understand why deforestation is such an important issue, you first have to understand why trees matter. Trees improve in many ways the life of all species, including the human race. They help to maintain the Earth’s benevolent atmosphere, provide shelter for much biodiversity, but also have a high commercial value. As a consequence there is much critical debate around the causes and solutions for deforestation.…

It is said, that forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet (WWF). Reducing the number of trees and the surface area of a forest is called deforestation. Deforestation is one of the biggest problems in today’s economic system. There may be a lot of positives behind the idea of cutting down trees; however they are all outnumbered by the negatives. If one is not careful with the removal of a forest, it may lead to more deserted areas.…

To understand why deforestation is such a pressing and urgent issue, forests must first be given credit for what they bring to global ecosystems and the quality of life that all species maintain. The forests have global implications not just on life but on the quality of it. Trees improve the quality of the air that species breath by trapping carbon and other particles produced by pollution. Because of the deforestation of the rainforest, nearly half of the world 's species of plants, animals and microorganisms will be destroyed or severely threatened over the next quarter century…

In all rainforest regions in the world, deforestation has become a major problem. The rainforest is arguably the most complicated and largely interwoven ecosystem on land. However, this treasure is being lost and demolished day by day, the land being cleared away for the pure interest of money making, in the process of deforestation. Not only are thousands of species of organisms being driven to extinction, but we are also effectively eliminating any chance of studying many of the species. Also, deforestation has a major impact on the atmospheric balance of the world, and if it continues at the rate it is now, then soon the world's entire way of living will be forced to change, and not for the good. If the people of the world do not begin to be more contentious, then soon rainforests will become nothing more than a glorious legend of the past.…

“In less than one hundred years over half of the forest has now been cut and burned, leaving whole areas of the earth bare and unprotected, rendering entire regions lifeless. Over fifty million acres of tropical rain forest are destroyed every year, enough trees to fill all of England and Scotland combined,” stated Cedar.int. Forests have many beneficial qualities that are essential to human life, and each and every day humans are participating in deforestation. Some of the important contributions of forests are the production of oxygen, reduction of global warming, and providing wildlife habitats. Those contributions are only a fraction of why we need to conserve the forests of the world.…

Deforestation is contributing to threatened habitats. Humans are cutting down trees for reasons such as agricultural land. Trees are not only animal’s homes but they recycle our air and we are constantly chopping them down. Humans have cut down about 80% of the world’s natural forests which were once the home to many animals. The Amazon rainforest in South America is an example of deforestation as it has been partly deforested.…

There are also local causes such as the Agricultural reasons. Forests are also cut down to clear land for growing crops, build farms, ranches and other food growing lands. The process of plantation is one of the causes which increased deforestation rates. It clears a patch of land to grow crops by slash and burn. The patch is then deserted until the soil regains its fertility. While plantation clears land by burning it, Shifting Cultivation still is as bad as Plantations as a large agricultural area is usually used for growing one crop such as bananas, coffee, cocoa and rubber. This process is usually carried out by…

    Rainforest Destruction

The rainforests of the world all have one thing in common: they are all based around the equator and the tropics. Without them, many of our household products such as wooden furniture and basic necessities like coal and even air would not exist. We are losing all of our raw materials up just as we are beginning to appreciate their true value. Rainforests once covered 14% of the earth's land surface; now they cover a mere 6% and scientists estimate that the last remaining rainforests could be drained in less than 40 years. One and a half acres of rainforest are being destroyed every second because the value of rainforest land is so high due to the value of its timber by short-sighted governments, multi-national logging companies, and land owners. Because of our greedy nature, we destroy 137 plant, animal and insect species every single day. If you don’t want to be part of this “we”, and feel you show some kind of response to the life threatening process of deforestation, read on.…

Why should we care about deforestation? Deforestation is a leading cause in global warming and the increase in greenhouse gases like carbon. Deforestation also affects many things including man-kind. The degradation of the Amazons trees and vegetation would be oil industries, and soybean farmers’ expansion into the rainforest. The effects are also important as well, some effects of Deforestation are the change in climate, the impact on the global hydro climate, and scattered rainfall; whether it be increased or decreased.…
