It is to be noted that the most important requirement for successful implementation of any MRTS project is dependent on the appropriate selection of Rolling Stock (metro trains) based on the profile of that city i.e. commuter traffic, population, traffic demand, demography. However, as there is a serious issue of lack of Rolling Stock expert availability in India and further, what ever limited manpower is available are from Indian Railways who were on a deputation to DMRC and have either returned to their parent organization or are currently engaged in some other MRTS projects. Few of the experts have also moved to other overseas projects like DubaiMetro, Singapore metro etc. in search of greener pasture. Hence, it is to be noted that there is a serious shortage of skilled manpower in Rolling Stock industry currently.
