Over the course of three terms, starting in 1934, the Supreme Court struck down a large part of the Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal, provoking a continuing constitutional crisis. President Roosevelt naturally criticized the Court on a number of occasions, the last time in June of 1936; but because of the negative response from Congress and members of the media in those instances, he said nothing about the Court during the 1936 presidential campaign. Supporters of the New Deal proposed a variety of ways of bringing the Court into line with their program, including statutes to require an extraordinary majority of justices to strike down a law, constitutional amendments to mandate retirement at 70 or 75, and so on (Ross 1994, Stephenson 1998). During the 1936 election, Governor Landon and other Republicans attempted to use the Court’s recalcitrance to portray Roosevelt and the Democrats as enemies of the Constitution, liberty, and property. Notwithstanding the barrage of criticism, Roosevelt and the Democrats won a massive landslide in 1936, with the President taking all but two states in the Electoral College and Democrats controlling all but sixteen seats in the Senate and eighty in the House.…

Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease of humans and other animals caused by protists (a type of microorganism) of the genus Plasmodium. It begins with a bite from an infected female Anopheles mosquito, which introduces the protists through saliva into the circulatory system. In the blood, the protists travel to the liver to mature and reproduce. Malaria causes symptoms that typically include fever and headache, which in severe cases can progress to coma or death. The disease is widespread in tropical andsubtropical regions in a broad band around the equator, including much of Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and the Americas.…

Dengue fever, also known as breakbone fever, is a mosquito-borne tropical disease caused by the dengue virus. Dengue becomes a major international public health concern. Dengue is found in tropical and sub-tropical regions around the world, predominantly in urban and semi-urban area. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates there may be 50-100 million dengue infections globally every year, with two-fifths of the world population, or 2.5 billion people, at risk of this mosquito-borne infectious disease. Dengue fever is spread through the bite of an infected Aedes aegypti mosquito. The first symptom of the disease appears in 5-7 days after the mosquito bit a healthy person. It is possible to become infected by dengue multiple times because the virus has four different serotypes. The symptoms are high fever, rash, headache, muscle and joint pain, nausea, vomiting and eye pain. Dengue fever is usually a self-limited illness, and only supportive care is required. Carica papaya is a large, tree-like plant, with a single stem growing from 5 to 10 m (16 to 33 ft.) tall, with spirally arranged leaves confined to the top of the trunk. Carica papaya contains the enzyme papain, which is present in the fruits, stem and leaves.…
