Dennis Rodman

The person I decide to do my psychology study on is Dennis Roman, I decided to pick him to do my study would is because he is well known to have a lot of psychological problems. Some of his psychological problems are the reason that made him an even bigger star than he was just off his accomplishments. Some people could even argue the fact by some of his bizarre events he was able to generate a bigger salary for NBA contract as well too. By fully understanding Dennis Rodman we, will know who he is, where he comes from, then ask what makes him do the things he does, and why he does it? Dennis Rodman was originally born on May 13, 1961 in Trenton, New Jersey but grew up in Dallas, Texas around the Oak Cliff neighborhood time was considered to be one of worst neighborhood in the Dallas area. Dennis grew up being the only male in his family with his mother and two sisters after his father left to enlist in the Air Force and then became a Vietnam War Veteran. While Dennis was growing up he wasn’t a standout basketball player as he was when he was in the NBA, in fact his two sisters were the standout basketball players. This made him a laughing stock to his peers since he was the one tagging along with them to all their basketball games. When Dennis was a freshman in high school he was considered on of the shorter ones in his class, standing at only 5 foot 6 inches, and only grew 5 inches during his four years in high school to his senior year when he only was 5’11. He was unable to make the basketball team during the time in high school; in fact he couldn’t even make a layup playing basketball during tryouts. After finishing high school he started working a full time overnight job as a janitor at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Getting into trouble for the first time was on a dare; he stuck his broom handle through a gift shop gate and stole 15 watches. He

    He grew up in an a tan, old, rotting house in a crime filled area of Chicago. Derrick grew up with three older brothers who were all talented basketball, he admired them, which led to his love for basketball.     After this he transferred to Fresno State in California. He started playing basketball in sophomore year. Three years after breaking his wrist, he failed another drug test, and after rehabilitation, rejoined the team and graduated. He went on to play professionally for the Celtics and Nuggets, although his problems continued. While playing in the NBA, he turned to using painkillers such as OxyContin and vicodin. His dependency on drug use ruined his career, as he developed health problems and the drugs affected his play.
