Density Never Change Lab Report
Density of a given substance is independent of volume. Density never changes. I know that for a fact because during the “Density Does Not Change With Size” lab, we measured the length of rods given to us. For one I got 4.2cm, and when i weighed it on the scale I got 14.5g. Once I put the rod in the graduated cylinder I got 5.5cm squared. But when you divide your mass by volume, you will get your density. And for the density I got 2.6g/cm squared. Then for the other rod I got 6.7cm for length, 23.2g for mass, 9cm squared for volume, and for density I got 2.6g/cm squared. This scientifically proves that density never changes. To determine the mass of an object, you would simply weigh your object. To determine the volume you would put your object in water, subtract the number you got when you put the object in from before putting the object in. …show more content…
Then finally, to get the density you would divide your mass by the volume to get the density of the regular object. As you can see one way we put our object in the water to get the volume ( then subtract) and one other way was to measure all sides. Also you can calculate the density of water too. To do that you would first have your scale at zero. Then you would select a graduated cylinder and put it on the scale, then you would add the mass of water to it ( mass of water would be given to you by a teacher or someone else.) You can use a pipette to take out water or add water to get to the exact number like 100mL for example. Then you would get the 100mL to 54 grams on the scale. Once you do that, you would want to read your graduated cylinder for the volume of the water, mine was

In this experiment, the experimenters found the density of solid objects and then the concentrations of solutions based on their densities. It was determined that as density increases, concentration does as well. The density of a substance is something that stays constant, for solutions of material the density is expected to increase in direct translation to the concentration increasing. The theory surrounding this lab was to see in practice how density could be determined with displacement and then to determine whether the density does in fact increase directly with the concentration.…

The purpose of this experiment is to compare the different densities of different liquids. Density is a comparison between an object's mass and volume. Density = Mass divided by Volume. If the weight (or mass) of something increases but the volume stays the same, the density has to go up. If the mass decreases but the volume stays the same, the density has to go down. This experiment will show how the weight of certain liquids react to each other.…
