The experience I have gained while working with a variety of patients has taught me the importance in taking the time always to reassure the patients while making sure they fully understand the procedure they are undergoing. When treating younger patients, I have found the use of animations to be very useful to carry out this exercise. I have also enrolled in some courses which I hope to complete before beginning my studies in dental hygiene these include: radiography, Oral Health Education, I am also on Prevention In Practice course with Health Education England.
A keen interest in IT and the application of skills utilised within a dental surgery has allowed my practice to appoint me as the main liaison with our software provider (Software Of Excellence) and hardware providers (Microminder). I enjoy undertaking the responsibility of carrying out maintenance of any software/hardware issues that may arise.
