The Dependency of Doctors: From the beginnings of ancient times, to the present day, doctors have always been the people that we depended on. Without doctors, many conflicts could arise to create chaos! Diseases such as the flu or the common cold could probably kill many, if doctors did not exist. Children would less likely survive from childbirth, the world would become weak, and the quality of life would diminish. Is that how the world should live on as? Suffering as our ancestors had centuries before? I believe that the most ideal job to have would be the doctor, because it demands many special criteria of knowledge to be well-educated enough to successfully cure people, it also …show more content…
needs the experiences and further knowledge to advance towards the actual healing of humans, and finally it would be the downfall of the world if doctors did not exist. To become a doctor, many different special criteria are needed to sufficiently fix the community from deadly epidemics, which is why it is the most supreme job today.
Just applying to medical school is such a distressing ordeal; the applicant would have to submit a copy of their college and/or their transcript(s), letters of recommendation, and the fateful scores from the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). The minimum educational requirement for entry into any medical school is at least three years of college, even if most applicants have at least a bachelor’s degree and advanced degrees. Once a school accepts the applicant, they will be up for an enormous challenge for at least four years in school, depending on what they are trying to achieve. While attending medical school, the applicant, now student can expect to spend the next four painful years studying basic science and accomplishing procedures called, “clinical rotations,” a type of new learning that takes place in real health care settings that include hands-on learning. Usually this new system is showed to students after their first two years, but the number of students aspiring to become doctors has been increasing, to result in earlier clinical experiences. These are just some of the many holes in the ground that will try to pull students in, but many people are graduating to become celebrated doctors, that give hope that the human race will continue to remain …show more content…
strong. Although there are many special criteria to pass, experiences and further knowledge is what they need to advance towards the actual healing of humans, also another exposition why the ideal job is the physician. When the hallelujah chorus serenades the students, as they graduate medical school, they still have a very long ways to go. The next stepping stone is to complete a residency. Residents must select a main specialty or residency but also consider a subspecialty. They might also have trouble searching for positions in joining a professional organization, and seeking for mentors to help their new lifestyle, workload, life problems, etc. Medical residency preparation lasts for a minimum of three years for primary care physicians and other specialties, up to five challenging years for some surgical specialties, and others require additional years of fellowship training in addition to the three to five years of residency education. When the time is up for the resident’s apprenticeship, all graduated residents must obtain a license from their state licensing board, which requirements vary by state. Finally, they must have completed the relevant medical training within the past seven years, to become eligible for the certificate, and also take the certifying exam, which consists of a whopping 300-350 questions. When all has come into favor, doctors they have become! But, depending on the field a new doctor is in, some are required to be regularly evaluated on their professionalism, medical knowledge, practice techniques, and communication skills by taking a hefty exam every ten years in the occupation. Is that not the most extravagant workload to overcome? Just to become a mere physician, and maintain the world’s health is something that I am most truly amazed by. Finally, I truly regard that the most ideal job to have would be the doctor, because without them, it would be the downfall of the world. Without the dependent source of medical knowledge, the world would eventually collapse in distress. People that are diagnosed with deadly sicknesses such as cancer, AIDS, HIV, influenza, etc, would die for sure. Surgery could not be performed at all; if there was, then there would be no anesthesia, blood control, etc. Childbirth would likely lead to death for the mother, and the slightest chance for the baby to live. When disease takes over the world from all the different epidemics spreading, all people would instantly become weak, and the human race could be wiped out in a snap. This is how important we the people will always need the improving field of medicine. Doctors of all kind, care for everyone in this world. They examine patients, record every patient’s history, prescribe the right amount of medications, order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Surgeons operate on patients to treat broken bones, diseases such as cancerous tumors, deformities of all ages, etc. They go through the immeasurable amount of studying and stress to help the world, because they care for us all.
In conclusion, I accredit that the most exemplary occupation to have would be the doctor, because it demands many special criteria of knowledge to be well-educated enough to successfully cure people, it also needs the experiences and further knowledge to advance towards the actual healing of humans, and finally it would be the downfall of the world if doctors did not exist.
Yes, the time spent for studying and school is unbelievable, but the benefit that this society now holds is dominant. If no one mustered his/her courage and strived towards his/her goal, the world would be in ruins. As mentioned above, too many conflicts could pile up to slowly or quickly destroy the human race. Because of this, we must honor these praiseworthy people that hold the key to destruction. Maybe this is why I, personally look up to these people, with a face gleaming with
admiration.
