Definitely, it is very challenging to answer the question “Does the world that I am living exist?” or “Do I Exist?” and many philosophers tried to do it, including Descartes. Descartes in his Discourses on the Method Part IV (Cogito) and in the text Existence of matter stated that he could be sure only in his existence. He could doubt of the existence of some objects as well as people, because it could be a demon, who presents him unreal things. “From that I recognized that I was a substance whose essence or nature is only thinking …” and “I think, therefore I am” can confirm his existence. He knew that he existed, owing to the reason that he could doubt and imagine that everything around did not exist and he was dreaming, but he could not doubt his own existence.
In the text Existence of matter, the Descartes doubted about the existence of table covered with tablecloth due to the reason that he could not see it and there was no sense date from the table.
