Describe The Effects Of Abuse
Abuse is mistreatment by any other person or persons that violates a person's human and civil rights. The abuse can vary from treating someone with disrespect in a way which significantly affects the person's quality of life, to causing actual physical suffering. Abuse can happen anywhere - in a residential or nursing home, a hospital, in the workplace, at a day centre or educational establishment, in supported housing or in the street. Abuse can come in many forms and can affect a individual in many forms for example; Discriminatory abuse - oppressive and prejudicial attitudes towards a person's disability, age, race religion sexual orientations. Multiple or institutional abuse which includes an abusive regime or culture, ignoring a person's …show more content…
People being abused might be scared that the abuser will find out, and be worried that the abuse will get worse. Or they might think that there's no one they can tell or that they won't be believed. Sometimes, adults don't realise that abuse is occurring however there are many ways in which others can tell. This is shown by many different types of indicators. 4 ,i Many bruises, cuts, burns or marks on the body can indicate to many others that physical abuse is occurring on a individual. Unexplained lack of money or inability to maintain lifestyle this can indicate that financial and material abuse is taking place. Livin dirty, cramped or overcrowded accommodation and or living and working at the sbrie address can hinder a sort of modern day slavery taking place. P3: There are certain groups who appear to be more vulnerable to, or at risk of, abuse than others. They tend to be people with physical or learning difficulties. There are many factors that can lead to abusive situations, People suffering from dementia might be abused and not feel it due to a lack of understanding. People in these groups tend to be more accepting of what happens to them, this could be because they don't really understand the situation or because of some strong medication they might have been
