Included in the assessment plan, are a formative and summative assessment from a lesson plan I created in Fine Arts. The two way chart was created in a Student, Teacher, and School Assessment course. The lesson plan is composed of both a formative and summative assessments. The 2-way chart was created from the objectives from the lesson plan. On the y-axis of the 2-way chart are the learners’ objectives. On the x-axis is the cognitive scale. The cognitive scale is composed of recall, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and creativity (creates). The formative assessment is the student will be able to identify significant characteristics of the seasons. The summative assessment is the student will be able to apply their knowledge by creating artwork about the four seasons. Objective 1 will be assessed by the chart completed by the students (formative) and objective 2 will be assessed by the completed four season’s tree artwork (summative). On the cognitive scale assessment 1 requires students to recall. The students will have to think about their favorite season and why it is their favorite season. For assessment 2 students must apply and use analyses to complete their artwork. If both of the assessments are good, then they will have high validity.
