Describe The Relationship Between Losia And Dagget And Freeman

Freeman was born in a time when women were married at a young age. In the story Lousia was considered an old maid. She waited fourteen years for one man. Lousia was costumed to doing her own routine. She would clean, garden and take care of her old yellow dog named Caesar. When Freeman describes the dog in her writing it feel that she is also talking about Lousia. Both Lousia and Caesar were chained and locked away in different ways. Lousia had the freedom to leave if she chose to but did not. Lousia was tied down to Joe Dagget. Lousia could have met someone else but she never tried to or considered it. She made a promise to wait to for him, no matter how long it took. In the beginning of the story it seemed Dagget and the protagonist do not seem to have affection for one another.
How they talked about Lily and how pretty she was. As the story goes on the protagonist does not seem eager or excited about her wedding. She seems to be doing what she feels that she needs to be doing not what she wants to be doing. When the protagonist goes on her walk and finds out about her betrothed and Lily she does not seem upset. She seems relieved about it like she knows she is not the only one that is not happy. Lousia and Dagget agree to go there separate ways. By the end of the story the protagonist seems to be happier and glad to see where her life is going. Caesar was chained due to a mistake he made has a puppy. Caesar took a bite out of a neighbors hand and this caused the puppy to be chained the rest of his life. Dagget wanted to let Caesar off the chain and be free. Lousia thought letting Caesar out would be an awful idea. Lousia actually thought the dog was not vicious but would cause problems with the villagers. The villagers were afraid of this old yellow dog. Adults would warn their children to stay away from him. Caesar did not get to be a dog he was treated like a monster. Lousia and Caesar were both tied down in
