By 1898, McKinley accepted the request for immediate action to counter and liberated Cuba and it attained its independence with the US supervision. In 1909 Howard Taft implemented the Dollar diplomacy that had a goal of creating stability abroad. President Howard believed the dollar diplomacy would promote the financial interest of Americans by encouraging investment in the country. Taft's policy aided Americans to live financially from other nations but restricted other countries from gaining from the US (Schaller et al 674).
